WORKERS at the East Lancs Paper Mill in Radcliffe tackled a small blaze in a paper machine.
The outbreak happened at the Church Street East premises at about around 9.25pm last night.
A sprinkler was also activated. Three fire crews from Bury and Whitefield attended the scene but the blaze was almost out by the time they arrived.
Officers said a guard had apparently fallen into the machine, causing a spark. Damage was confined to the equipment and the roller belt.
Crews were at the scene for an hour.
