CARSTEN Fredgaard could get his first start in a Bolton shirt in Sunday's screen test against Watford, thanks to fellow Dane Per Frandsen.

The attacking midfielder, who has made a good impression in two substitute appearances since joining Wanderers on loan from Sunderland as well as scoring in the reserves last week, is being tipped to make his full debut in the Sky TV clash at the Reebok.

Frandsen misses his first game of the season, ruled out by a one-match ban after collecting five bookings, and the necessary adjustment in midfield, with Gareth Farrelly rated as doubtful, puts the 24 year-old once-capped Denmark international in the frame.

Sam Allardyce would have no qualms about that, after praising the player they nicknamed Lightning in his days at Lyngby for his two contributions to date.

And the manager suggested he would like to make the switch to the Reebok a permanent deal.

"Carsten Fredgaard looks like he could be a good acquisition or us," the manager said after Fredgaard's 10-minute cameo appearance in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United.

"He looked comfortable on the ball, played some nice passes and had a good shot that wasn't far off.
