ELTON first played Harlequins in an entertaining match.
Honours went to Harlequins in the first half with two excellent goals from Louise Heaney.
In the second half Sam Aston added a third goal and all seemed lost as far as Elton were concerned.
Elton however had other thoughts and struck back with goals from Julia Rowlands and Paula Evans, and Harlequins looked shaky for the first time in the match.
These Elton goals added extra interest to a game.
POM: Paula Evans for Elton and Wendy Morgan for Harlequins.
Nomads defended well in their match with Little Lever, and it took the free scoring Little Lever forwards 20 minutes before Elaine Nicholls scored the only goal of the first half. In the second half Little Lever dominated the game with goals coming at regular intervals. Little Lever won 5-0. Goal scorers Elaine Nicholls (3), with Sarah Gradwell and Lynne Walker adding one each. POM: Sue Winrow for Nomads and Wendy Horan for Little Lever.
Last week Hindley had a nightmare match with Elton C when they failed to score, despite enjoying most of the play. This week they played the same team and beat them 5-0.
Darcy Lever and Eagley FS, the two bottom teams in Section A, had a close and interesting contest. Eagley played one short but once again their running and covering made up the deficit. Vicky Hill seemed to have forgotten how to stop and collided heavily with a goal post, neither Vicky nor the goal post received any serious damage, the game continuing after a short delay. Eagley always seemed to be in command and ran out winners 2-1. POM: Ann Grundy for Darcy Lever and Belinda Duffy for Eagley FS.
