OPPOSITION leader William Hague, pictured, will be in town on Friday in a strong show of support for Chorley's prospective parliamentary Conservative candidate Peter Booth.
And the Tory leader will meet locals and shop owners and market traders to hear for himself their thoughts about the town.
Mr Hague's first stop will be Chorley Police Station for a meeting with divisional commander Paul Harry and Chorley sergeants and officers.
He is expected to discuss major issues, such as drugs, vandalism and crime in the area, as part of his law and order campaign.
And the concerns of locals about contacting Chorley Police by telephone and lack of visible policing will also be on the agenda.
Officials will then take Mr Hague into Chorley town centre where he will meet business people and shoppers.
And afterwards, local Conservatives will greet their leader as he opens their Christmas coffee morning at the town hall.
Mr Hague's tour of the region will then continue as he heads for South Ribble.
