Under 7s -- Leigh Miners Rangers 20 v Panthers 20 (Sunday, Nov 26)
The young Panthers travelled to Leigh eager to give a good account of themselves after being beaten by 12 points in their previous encounters. The Panthers started strongly with Andy Bridge scoring the first of his two tries.
Miners hit back immediately with a try before the visitors took the lead with tries from Nathan Crawford, Patrick Taylor and Brad Ibbison. In defence Cameron Sharratt, Sam Owen and Andy Bridge halted the Miners strong running with excellent and well timed tackling.
A mention must go to gutsy Jonathan South who came off the side line to help the team in the last five minutes. Man Of The Match went to Andy Bridge, an excellent return for him to the Panthers.
Under 8s -- Panthers 20 v Leyland Warriors 16 (Sunday, Nov 26)
A thrilling encounter in this local derby game with some 'top drawer' rugby on offer from both sides. The home side took an early lead when Jonathan Henderson powered over for the first of his two tries. The visitors were always in this one with some enterprising rugby but Chorley never lost the lead with further tries from Brad Ibbison and Connor Howard who 'nipped in ' from dummy half.
The highlight of the game came when young Josh Buckley rounded the Warriors defence to go over for his first ever try in what was a very entertaining game of rugby league between two talented teams.
Under 9s -- Panthers 0 v West Bank Bears 20 (Sunday, Nov 26)
A good performance from the Panthers against a very physical side from Widnes. Although the home side never got over the whitewash there was some excellent defence from Top Tackler Elliot Hindle, James Robinson and Taylor Bristow.
There was some strong running from Dan Statters, Tom Nicholson and Tom Holden and the Chorley side kept going right to the end. Rose Taylor took part in her very first game of rugby. She had a fantastic game both in attack and defence and was rewarded with the Player Of The Match award.
