WATER performance! That's Yorkshire Water who crossed the Pennines to help a Bury company whose supply had run dry.
The company came to the rescue of BT Cellnet to get the taps flowing once again at its massive call centre in Dumers Lane, Bury.
Cellnet's local supplier, North West Water, could not help them fast enough.
So the quick thinking phone company, which set up in Bury last year creating more than 1,000 jobs, dialled their nearest alternative -- Yorkshire Water.
They were only too pleased to help and sent a tank of water to Bury to keep BT Cellnet's supplies topped up.,
Terry Patrick, Yorkshire Water duty manager, said: "We were really surprised to get a call from BT Cellnet in Bury, but only too glad to help out.
"It must have been a strange sight to see the 5,000 gallon Yorkshire Water tank making its way over the Pennines."
The company's intervention ensured BT Cellnet could reopen its call centre as speedily as possible, enabling it to maintain a service to customers.
Chris Bulmer, BT Cellnet business continuity manager, said: "We'd like to thank Yorkshire Water for their consideration in helping us out.
"It made a real difference to the service we could give to our customers and their level of customer care was outstanding. They moved quickly and that was just what we needed."
