WITH reference to a recent letter, I was surprised to read that Brian Derbyshire, a regular contributor to Your Views, did not know the name of the prospective parliamentary candidate for Bolton South East, yet could recall him visiting a park and cemetery in Farnworth to inspect damage caused by vandals.
Just to inform Mr Derbyshire, the Conservative Party is fielding three worthy parliamentary candidates -- James Stevens for Bolton West, Michael Winstanley for Bolton North East, and Haroon Rashid for Bolton South East.
Mr Rashid was born and raised in the North of England, has strong family ties in Bolton, and is a true Conservative. He is young, articulate, and determined to help the people of Bolton to overturn the Labour majority in Bolton South East.
I believe that in Mr Rashid the Conservatives have their best opportunity yet to defeat New Labour and end their 70-year stranglehold on Bolton South East.
