AN AWARD winning DJ will be making a triumphant return to Bolton to play at the Institute on Tuesday.

Steve Sutherland, who won the prestigious MOBO UK Club DJ this year, is stopping off at Bolton Institute on the 'Smooth Tour' and is looking forward to entertaining all the local Garage and R&B fans.

He played in Bolton earlier this year at the hugely successful 'Flava' club night and following Trevor Nelson's sell-out Lick Party at The Temple, is expecting a warm welcome.

"The Bolton crowd is very R&B orientated and when I played there earlier this year the people were great and really knew what music they wanted.

"I'm looking forward to Tuesday - it will be really, really good" he said.

Passionate

Steve, who has been passionate about music since he was a kid, is highly sought after on the club circuit at the moment and will be entertaining guests at Prince Naseem's private party this month.

He said: "I'll play real 'Old Skool' party stuff for Prince Naseem and get everyone up and dancing.

"Getting these kinds of offers are flattering and if I ever get asked to play for Michael Jackson, then I can retire a happy man."

Steve is also rumoured to be playing at a private party for Madonna, who lives just down the road from him in south London.

Tight-lipped

But Steve remains tight-lipped about getting behind the decks to entertain the future Mrs Guy Ritchie.

"I'm really not allowed to speak about that at the moment, but if I do go ahead with it, I'll play really 80s, disco stuff for that sort of crowd.

"It's not my thing, but I'm a crowd pleaser and not a DJ's DJ," he said.

The London born and bred DJ will be surrounded by an energetic team for his Bolton performance with several already established and emerging MC and DJ talent hyping the crowd throughout the night, including MC Manny Norte and a live PA from Secret Agent.

The event runs from 9pm - 2am and tickets, which cost £7, are available from the Student Union Reception on 900850.

Tickets costing £8/ £7 (NUS) can also be bought on the door.
