Waking up a summer's day,

Alive with busting heart.

Summon on my jobs to hand,

And make a cheerful start.

To the bank an open door,

Is slammed upon my face.

So ignorant in character,

This madding human race.

The thing behind the counter,

I joke, she stares at me.

Rolls her eyes and files her naiIs,

At my stupidity.

Seething deep I soon forget,

And merry on my way.

I need a bit more stamina,

To help me through this day.

Off in town around the shops,

For them to bump and push.

A mass of people oh so rude,

And thoughtless in there rush.

Engulfed by supermarket place,

I walk the misery isles.

Cheerful in my character,

Though checkout wear no smiles.

Such hard work this weary day,

Trudge home the weighty food.

A sweet old lady smiles at me,

Oh please, not in the mood.
