COLIN Hendry could be set to bolster Wanderers' promotion campaign.
The out-of-favour Coventry centre half is desperate for first team football and Reebok boss Sam Allardyce believes he could do a job for his side.
Allardyce enquired about the 35-year-old Scottish international last month when he was looking for potential replacements in the event of Mark Fish leaving the Reebok.
Fish has since left and Wanderers are desperate to boost competition for places in the centre of defence with Gudni Bergsson, Paul Warhurst, Ian Marshall and current long-term injury Mike Whitlow, the only men in the squad with experience in the position.
A stumbling block in a Hendry deal could be his wages and the £150,000 Coventry are reported to be asking to secure his services for a three-month loan arrangement.
But that may be overcome with the player believed to be ready to help fund the move himself to secure the regular first team action he must get to have a chance of winning his way back into Craig Brown's Scotland plans.
