BOLTON clubbers on a night-out in Manchester are set to enjoy better protection.
Police and city centre bosses have teamed up for the launch of Nitenet, a radio communication system linking bars, restaurants and clubs.
The radio system will be monitored by police officers to ensure they are aware of any potential trouble in the city centre.
The introduction of the safety scheme comes as £20,000 of Government cash was awarded to GMP to help towards the City Centre Safe campaign, tackling alcohol-related crime.
