BOLTON singing sensation Hannah Morris, 14, who recently premiered her new Christmas single on BBC's Children in Need programme will sing 'live' with Smithills School world champion senior brass band in a special arrangement for her by conductor Chris Wormald of Heaven Help My Heart from the hit West End musical Chess.
Chris managed to speak personally to Sir Tim Rice to ask his permission to make the original arrangement for brass band some 10 years ago but this will be Hannah's singing debut with our world champions.
She will be singing in the Smithills Christmas Concert in the school hall on December 13 at 7.30 pm.
As always, the concert will feature all the school's world, national and BBC champion ensembles; senior big band, senior brass band -- with new principal cornet Selina Govan -- senior concert band, senior choir, lower school choir, soloists and a new percussion group led by David Heywood.
Tickets are all reserved and are now on sale from the new main school reception area.
There will be a number of Christmas gift ideas on sale at the concert, too, including the new senior brass band Travelling Brass CD just released and the new Virgin Records CD, Hannah, featuring Hannah Morris and Smithills lower school choir.
