THE action in the John Smith's Farnworth League saw a depleted Darcy Lever side lose for the first time.
After leading by nine runs at the interval, Darcy struggled in the second innings and lost to Adlington by 13 runs.
Second placed Imago made hard work of taking the points from their match against Siddons who had just eight players. Imago were just three runs ahead from the first innings and eventually scraped home by 12 runs to stay just two points behind the league leaders.
Markland are joint third with Siddons, but just missed out on going clear when they lost by two runs to Royal Hotel who remain second from the bottom despite their excellent victory.
Bradbury managed to stay one point clear of Royal thanks to a 33-run win over bottom side The Grapes.
Hanson maintained their unbeaten run in Section 'B' with a 13-run win over Carl Chapman. This was the closest result in the Section in which Bolton Motor Bodies beat Harper Green by an innings, The Flag had a comfortable win over White Horse (Little Lever) and A.S.A.P conceded their match.
After a reasonably dry Saturday and Sunday morning, the John Smiths' Farnworth Winter Rounders League was back in action on Sunday when seven of the eight scheduled games were successfully completed.
A.S.A.P. Ladies conceded their Section 'B' match to White Horse (Kearsley) when only five players assembled for the game.
The Breightmet League planned to have a full programme when their pitches were in much better conditions than in previous weeks, but only one actual match and a friendly took place because C.R.S., Levers XI and Nortons XI all failed to field a team.
