TEMPEST United ran riot in Round One of the Presidents Cup on Saturday to register one of the club's best ever away wins, 8-1 at fellow Division One outfit Bac Preston.
Shaun Hill opened the scoring for the beaten Goldline Trophy finalists on 10 minutes only for the home side to level from the penalty spot. A Sean Whorlow strike on 44 minutes made it 2-1 and by the 56th minute it was 5-1 effectively killing the game off. The Tempest strike force was virtually unstoppable with Hill scoring four and Whorlow three. Dave Collier also got his name on the scoresheet in a result made even more remarkable by the fact that Tempest had at least half a dozen regulars out.
The Tempest Reserves went down 2-1 at home in the Houston Cup First Round replay, Mike Bramwood the United scorer. Turton Reserves won 2-1 at Norcross and Warbeck in a Division One Reserves fixture.
