BRIGHOUSE was the venue for the North of England Cyclo-cross championships with Dave Leyland and Dave Eadon in action for Horwich Cycling Club.
On a course that was both technical and muddy, Leyland scored a fantastic result finishing second in his age group.
And this came after the Horwich rider claimed to have suffered a poor start!
Dave Headon, unfortunately suffering from a stomach bug, managed to finish the race but well down on his usual finishing place.
The lads on the club run set off on a cold Sunday morning and headed out for a the run over the Trough of Bowland.
One puncture and 80 miles later they headed back into town after a good day and none the worse for wear and if you would like to join Horwich CC or would like any more information about the club then you can visit the website at www.horwichcc.freeserve.co.uk or contact Chris Taylor on 01204 596183, e-mail ct2mpo@bolton.ac.uk.
Alternatively anybody is welcome to meet us on a Sunday at the corner of Beaumont Road and Chorly New Rd. at 9.30am. Distances are usually 60-70 miles, however this is decided on the day, taking into account the weather and ability of riders present.
