IN the recently published North Lancashire Veterans Best All Rounder results, the LRC 'old lags' again proved that they are a force to be reckoned with.

The club placed no fewer than six riders in the top 15 with Frank Kerry, Keith Tattersall and Colin Greenhalgh finishing second, third and fourth respectively beating the 'old enemy' Preston Wheelers into second place for the team award in the process.

The club,s second team of John Partington, Alex Munro and Ian Ainsworth were the third placed team.

The same group of riders achieved age related records at all distances except 50 miles with Frank taking the 10 mile, 25 mile and 100 mile records and Colin taking the 30 mile and 12 hour.

Club president, Roger Winstanley finished his successful season of track racing last week with a third place in the points race and second in the scratch race.

There will be no official club run on Sunday as members will be riding under 'Presidential Command' for the yearly Presidents Christmas Run

Otherwise, LRC club runs will continue as usual throughout the winter months with clubrunners meeting outside the Royal Oak pub on Tonge Moor Road at 9:30 on Sunday mornings.

Faster training runs, for riders who want to train over the winter months, will meet at the Black Dog at Belmont at 9:30. Again the route will be determined on the day but the pace will be harder and there will not be a caf stop. This ride will probably cover 50-60 miles and will aim to be back about lunch time.
