IT is my misfortune to have to travel from Bolton to Manchester via the A666 to work every day.

Yes, the roadworks, as has been said many times on these pages before, are horrendous.

But, what makes it even worse is the band of vigilante drivers who drive slowly up the outside lane before you get to the roadworks, with the sole purpose of blocking off that lane so you cannot get past them.

The stretch of the A666 leading up to the roadworks has two lanes, with clear signs instructing you how far away the roadworks are. These childish drivers are effectively making the whole stretch from the junction leading from the A58 (Toys R Us junction) up to the roadworks a one-lane road.

On other occasions I've seen cars driving down the centre of the two lanes to create a roadblock'. They seem to have an "if I've got to wait, so can you" mentality.

These pathetic people are slowing down an already tedious journey.

Please, let people use both lanes and filter in nearer to the roadworks.

To the guilty parties, stop taking the law into your own hands.
