A MAN killed after being hit by a train near Horwich Parkway station has still to be formally identified.
British Transport Police confirmed they are still trying to trace relatives of the dead man, believed to be in his 20s.
A spokesman said: "We're confident that within a short time we will have confirmed his identity."
Emergency services were called just before midday on Monday after the man's body was spotted near the rail tracks.
There were delays to 95 services and trains had to be diverted through Chorley and Wigan to Manchester.
Services returned to normal after 2pm, when scenes of crime officers had allowed the man's body to be removed.
