A MAN was dragged from a house, stabbed and beaten up in a daylight attack.
The 24-year-old victim was set upon by three men outside his girlfriend's house on Winster Drive, Breightmet, just after 3pm yesterday.
It is understood three men arrived outside the house in a Rover 216GTi car, dragged him out and beat him up in the street.
He suffered a head wound, needing stitches, and a stab wound to a buttock which was treated by medics at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
It is understood he later discharged himself from hospital.
Today detectives had launched an investigation into the attack, in which the victim lost a substantial amount of blood.
And police chiefs urged anyone who may have witnessed the attack to contact them.
Det Chief Insp Dave Law, of Astley Bridge police station, said: "We urgently need anyone who saw what happened to contact us. This man has been very lucky."
One man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is due to be questionned by detectives today.
