I SHOPPED at a very reliable and respected menswear store which used to be onNewport Street, Bolton. For some 30 years, I shopped here with great confidence, as the staff were so friendly.
My wife and I called in the new shop on the upper floor of the Market Place to purchase a birthday gift for her elderly brother in mid October, whose birthday is early December. Due to his sudden death in mid November, we took the present back to the shop in its original wrapping, with of course the receipt.
We were told that as 30 days had elapsed, we couldn't trade it in. I wasn't treated like a customer, and felt more like a shoplifter.
A very offended ex-customer (aged 79).
