AN excellent team performance earned the Panthers a well-deserved victory over a very strong St Helens outfit.
The Chorley lads played with confidence throughout and enjoyed every minute of this tough, fast-paced game.
Defending with enthusiasm and surging forward on attack whenever they had the ball the Panthers proved more than a match for their illustrious opponents.
Despite the tight defences, tries came thick and fast for both teams, but the big-hearted Panthers grabbed victory with a try on the final whistle.
Man-of-the-match was Daniel Holbrook. Panther tries came from Brad Ibbisen (3), Andrew Bridge (2), Patrick Taylor (2) and Nick Crawford.
