A BOLTON PVCu window manufacturer has been shortlisted for success in the Shamrock Awards -- a joint initiative by Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the Irish national airline Aer Lingus.
Grosvenor Windows Ltd of Manchester Road has had initial recognition in the Excellence in Workforce Development category.
The family-owned enterprise, which was established 25 years ago, is a strong supporter of the NVQ training programmes and a firm believer in developing young people at work.
It employs 54 people in the manufacture and installation of PVCu windows, doors, patios and conservatories.
Customers include local authorities, schools, colleges and hospitals.
The company has already gained the Investors in People Award and ISO 9002 recognition.
Training Manager Sue Booth said: "Our philosophy is to train and develop all our people to the best of their ability, so the award nomination is a good reflection of our commitment."
Three further rounds of judging will take place to nominate the finalists who will go forward to the award ceremony and dinner at Manchester Airport on May 17, 2001.
Aer Lingus has signed a three-year sponsorship deal for the business accolades.
