Cadishead ARLFC 7

Adlington Rangers ARLFC 38

ADLINGTON Rangers ARLFC 1sts were again a victim of the weather but the 'A' team were away at Cadishead.

Rangers should have opened the scoring when quick cross-field passing put wing-man Wheelan away but a double tackle when he crossed the line forced the ball loose.

Rangers did open the scoring when Dootson dropped a goal.

Cadishead equalised later with their own drop goal and a penalty.

Baxter came on as sub for Rangers and took a pass 15 yards out and crossed through the opposition to score the opening unconverted try.

In the second half, Cadishead put in some strong attacks but Rangers' defence held them out.

Centre Anwyl got on the end of some good passing to run in a try. Rangers' penalties allowed Cadishead to move up field where they charged over for a try from close in.

Front row Whittle went in for a try goaled by Fishwick. Baxter was on hand with another excellent run to get his hat trick. Hooker M Rogers went in next with an outrageous dummy which had Cadishead gasping.

F Rogers now kicked another drop, slipped out a pass for full back Talbot to go over for a try goaled by Fishwick. Man of the Match was Martin Baxter closely followed by Frank Rogers and Ray Roscoe.

This week Adlington Rangers 1sts are at home to Kirkholt (Rochdale) and the 'A' team entertain Widnes Albion.
