THE Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton and MP Brian Iddon attended an open day at a factory which helps get disabled people into employment.
The VIPs met bosses and workers at the Remploy textile factory, on Manchester Road, and presented certificates to staff who have been nominated by colleagues for a new competition.
The Making a Difference Awards will honour people who have touched their own and other people's lives by giving practical support to a colleague, coming up with a good idea, completing a challenging task or taking a course to improve their career.
The Mayor, Cllr Alan Wilkinson, who was present with the Mayoress, Denise Wilkinson, presented certificates to the nominees who will now be entered into a grand final.
Mr Iddon also launched a guide for employers of disabled people.
