A GROUP of brassy youngsters tuned up in Chorley at the weekend -- and entertained shoppers with their music.

Members of Chorley Silver Youth Brass Band played a selection of Christmas carols -- and held a collection to boost club funds. The final total came to just under £300.

Secretary Dave Watt said: "It's one of the few fund raising events for the band. We draw form local schools and we like to make the band available to as many children as possible.

"We have been going for nearly five years and we are looking to go on a European tour in a few years' time -- if we can raise the funds."

You can catch the band again at Market Walk this Saturday (December 9) between 10.30am and 1.30pm.
