THE way that the Conservative Party is spiralling out of control beggars belief and shows just how weak William Hague really is.
We always knew he would not make a good Prime Minister, but now it looks like he can't even manage a party of opposition. Even the majority of Conservative voters agree, according to the recent ICM opinion poll.
The three Bolton Tory hopefuls must be tearing their hair out in desperation as all they can look forward to is total humiliation on election night. It seems William Hague's decision to push for an election delay has backfired massively, because all the extra campaigning time has merely given Tory MPs a greater opportunity to press the self destruct button. I think the best thing for the Tory Party is to absorb the forthcoming defeat, take stock and select a new leader who can bring a bit of life into the party. Ann Widdecombe would be a good start.
