GOLDEN couple Harris and Eileen Alston, who met while roller-skating at a Chorley rink, celebrated 50 years of marriage with a party on Saturday April 21.
Harris, a joiner, and Eileen, who worked for Royal Ordnance, married on April 21, 1951 in Bolton.
They live at the Willows, Coppull Road, Chorley, and have lived in the town all their married life.
Eileen said: "We still love each other and have had a wonderful marriage."
Harris said: "I could not have had a better wife.
"She is really brilliant at most things and is quite clever at what ever she turns her hand to. Eileen is the tops."
He still puts us joinery skills to the test with a spot of DIY and also plays roller hockey, insisting it is just like when he was 16.
They have a holiday cottage in Yorkshire which they still visit and a caravan, too, when they have time.
The couple have two sons, Stephen who is married with three children and lives in Australia and Andrew, who lives in Charnock Richard.
They asked for no presents, but donations for Derian House children's hospice instead.
