A RIVINGTON minister called for, and got, a round of applause for her congregation at the annual conference of the Unitarian movement in Chester.
Mrs Judith Crompton, of Redcar Road, Smithills, is a lay preacher at Rivington Unitarian Chapel and was nearing the end of her Presidency of the General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches.
Tributes were paid to her and she then called for her own tribute to her own congregation which had been "wonderfully supportive" in a year when she had spent so much time away. She was given a standing ovation by the 400 delegates.
She is pictured with her husband Dennis.
