A NEW Year's resolution to enter competitions paid instant dividends for BEN holiday winner Janet Small.
Janet, who lives in Willand Drive, Breightmet, is now looking forward to two weeks in Alcudia, Majorca, plus £400 spending money after claiming first prize in our Freetime contest.
She has also won a hair-do, a month of free romantic novels and cinema tickets in BEN competitions since the start of the year.
Janet said: "My sister-in-law is always entering competitions and winning things, so I thought I'd have a go and enter competitions in the BEN. I've won one prize for every month of 2001, so I've done very well so far. I was thrilled to bits to win the holiday. My husband John and I love travelling and Majorca is our favourite place."
Her son Christopher, 21, is studying at Sheffield's Hallam University and can't enjoy a fortnight in the sun, so the couple will be joined by Janet's mother Irene Abbott.
She won the holiday, courtesy of St Andrew's Travel, with £400 spending money donated by the BEN, by answering a question about foreign travel every night for two weeks.
The second prize winners, who will enjoy a holiday to Monet's garden courtesy of Mistral, and £100 in cash from the BEN, were Ralph and Irene Taylor, from Horwich. Sheila Warburton, from Swinton, took home the third prize, a caravan holiday for up to six people, courtesy of British Holiday, plus £100 cash from the BEN.
