SCHOOLS from Bury are taking part in innovative environmental art workshops.
Environmental artist Gordon McLellan -- also known as Toad -- has teamed up with artist Leslie Martin and the Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside to take pupils to Philips Park, Bury.
Pupils will look at environmental aspects such as ancient woodland, bush and grassland, and industrial heritage before returning to the classroom to create their masterpieces.
Their work, including stories with pictures and words, and leaf poems made from willow and tissue, will be among the creations which will then be exhibited in the Barn Countryside Centre on June 24.
On the day of the exhibition there will be guided walks, games, scavenger hunts and a small prize for the children with the most creative masterpieces.
