CHORLEY residents have until just Sunday to fill in and return their census forms -- and keep the council in the money.
Council chiefs have warned that it could cost the authority and other important local services vital government funding if forms are not sent in.
Grants and cash support from the Government are given to local authorities, health authorities and other services on the basis of local needs, explained Chorley Borough Council.
Council leader Jack Wilson said: "My message to the people of Chorley is -- fill in your census form, make sure you include everyone in your home on it and answer every question. Chorley's grant depends on it."
He added: "The census takes place only once every ten years and it's essential that people take part. We need everyone who receives a census form to fill it in and return it.
"If anyone doesn't get a form and thinks the address they live in has been missed, they should telephone 0845 3012001 right away."
National Census Day is this Sunday, April 29.
