A BOLTON-born accountant has played a leading role in a £7 million High Street deal.
Simon Baxendale of Blackburn-based Pierce Chartered Accountants led the firm's finance team which advised Liverpool fashion entrepreneur Robert Wade-Smith when he recently re-acquired clothing retailer Wade Smith from Arcadia.
The deal came three years after the Wade Smith business was originally sold to Arcadia, the company which owns Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Wallis and Top Man/Top Shop.
Mr Baxendale, aged 38, who is a partner in the firm, said: "The re-acquisition is great news for Wade Smith.
"It will inject a new wave of optimism into the company, helping it realise its tremendous potential.
"The deal was negotiated and completed in an extraordinarily tight deadline.
"The team, along with our legal counterparts, worked extremely hard and we are delighted with the outcome." Simon is pictured, left, with Robert Wade-Smith.
