I REFER to to your article 'Contract blow for deaf charity' (BEN: April 12).
I sincerely hope that Bolton Deaf Society finds a solution to its current problems, while continuing to put the aims and objectives of the charity first.
I would like, however, to correct a statement which referred to me personally. The article said I retired last June because of ill health. This is not so -- I resigned from my position as Manager in May, 2000, and took up employment elsewhere.
