TYLDESLEY RU reached the milestone of 1000 points scored in the season for the first time since 1958-59.
It was hoped that the Well Street boys could do it against local rivals Leigh but unfortunately the annual Grainey Memorial Challenge game had to be scrapped when Leigh couldn't raise a side to travel to Tyldesley.
Undeterred Tyldesley went into the Fixture Pool and ended up with an away trip to South Wirral side Helsby.
The fist ten minutes saw the home team hold solid and Tyldesley looked in for a hard day.
However that was not to be the case as soon as Tyldesley opened the scoring with Andy Dickinson touching down for the first try of the day.
Further tries came from Lee Cunliffe, Darren Edge, Graham Harrop and two from Shaun Pulman.
Flanker Lee Berrisford grabbed his third hat-trick in four games to go to the top of Tyldesley's try charts with 20 for the season.
Eddie Wallbank landed six conversions for a 57-0 win.
Tyldesley now have to play Broughton at home in their final league game and depending on results elsewhere they also have a promotion play-off to contend with.
PA MIX of second and third team player took on a mixed Leigh second and thirds at Well Street.
It was a closely thought game but the visitors eventually ran out winners, by a 19-5 scoreline. Classy Tyldesley reach the thousand milestone
