TELEVISION viewers in Bolton are set to experience temporary loss of picture over the next few weeks as work continues on the Winter Hill transmitter.
A number of complaints have reached the BEN of shutdowns of up to 20 minutes during the day.
It has resulted in the loss of BBC1 and BBC2.
A spokesman for Television Reception Advice, a hotline set up to deal with such enquiries, said: "Winter Hill's transmitter is undergoing some work and there will be up to six shutdowns each day.
"Viewers should expect to be without a picture for no more than five minutes each time."
