Chorley 1- Harrogate Town 0

A LAST minute winner from the prolific Danny Mills earned Chorley all three points in a tight encounter at Victory Park.

A fairly desultory first half saw Harrogate make a bright start without seriously troubling Simon Marsh.

Injuries and suspensions forced Ken Wright into fielding striker Neil Matthews at centre half, and he turned in a commendable display in his unfamiliar role.

The Magpies almost broke the deadlock when a David Eatock drive grazed the crossbar and then Mitchell came even closer, hammering a shot against the upright. Overall though the first half was a disjointed affair and indeed the Magpies only really came to life after the second half introduction of substitutes Dickinson and Evans.

Dickinson almost broke the deadlock when his teasing cross eluded keeper Allen and was acrobatically cleared off the line by Ord.

Chorley though finally got the goal that their more positive approach deserved.

The hard-working Swailes won a right wing corner and when Wallace's kick came over, Mills was unattended to head in off the inside of the post for the 26th goal of his highly fruitful season.

On Saturday Chorley conclude their league programme with a home match against Guiseley, who depending on midweek results, could still be worried about possible relegation.
