A MATT Jansen header from three yards out ensured a Rovers return to the Premier League.
His goal 18 minutes from time secured a 1-0 win over Preston North End, atDeepdale.
But Rovers had to survive a Preston shot against the post in the last minute,and now look forward to Premiership football returning to Ewood Park.
Jansen's goal came from a Craig Hignett corner, flicked on by Craig Shortand in a tense, evenly matched game it was enough to clinch promotion.
Graham Souness prowled the touchline in the final ten minutes, urging histeam to hold on to their lead and ensure that Preston's strike force remained under lock and key.
