AS well as Bury manager Andy Preece another man who doesn't know where his future lies is his assistant Steve Redmond.
And the number two is in a worse position than Preece.
While the manager has another 12 months on his current contract, Redders - as he's known - will be officially out of work on June 29.
With the future of the Gigg Lane club still uncertain, he has no idea whether or not he'll be offered another contract so what is the popular defender going to do?
"If I've heard nothing by the 29th I'll have go round to the chairman's house and fill him in!'' joked Redders.
"But seriously it isn't a nice position to be in. I've been to see the chairman about the contract situation but he says he can't tell me anything. I want to get things sorted out because I'm 33 now and the quicker it happens the better for me.
"It will be interesting to see what does happen because no one knows what's going on."
Redmond wants to stay at Bury, not least because he feels he still has a big part to play in this team's future.
"We've got a young team here and I think it's important to keep some of the more experienced players so we can pass our knowledge on and help them," argued Redmond.
"If you've got an old man in there controlling it then you've always got a chance."
Redmond will return to the Bury side for the final match of the season at Brentford on Saturday.
He has been a frustrated figure on the sidelines after missing the last five fixtures through suspension and can't wait to pull a Bury shirt back on, possibly for the final time.
"It's been frustrating being out for so long, especially as I still think my sending off at Oldham should not have been a red card," said Redmond.
"It's been a while since I played. I asked the chairman to send me on a five-week cruise to the Caribbean while I was out but he wouldn't agree. It will certainly be nice to come back."
Rumours about a London consortium buying Bury FC continue to do the rounds but as yet nothing official has been announced.
