IN answer to D Jones' letter about the vandalism in Astley Bridge Cemetery.

I have written many letters on this subject, but your letter will fall on deaf ears. We know the yobs have no respect -- that's our sick society today. It is a disgrace, but the council couldn't care less it seems.

I know it is a problem, but surely a couple of police walking round until it goes dark, or something, can be tried; it may make a difference.

But we live in this society now, and it won't get any better. Bring the birch back, the do-gooders are killing all the law and order we are supposed to have.
