A HEAVY drinker was found dead at his Harwood home by his partner.
An inquest was told Malcolm Sutcliffe, of Seaford Road, had been on a night out with colleagues on October 21 last year.
The 58-year-old was found slumped next to the bed by Shirley Wrigley and her daughter's boyfriend the next day.
Mr Sutcliffe was admitted to the Royal Bolton Hospital and transferred to Hope Hospital, Salford, where he underwent neurosurgery, but died a month later.
The inquest was told Mr Sutcliffe, who worked in Radcliffe, had drank half a bottle of whisky before he met his colleagues at a Bury pub.
He drank pints of beer for the rest of the night and was last seen on the dance floor of a club at 12.30am.
The pathology report revealed Mr Sutcliffe died of pneumonia after suffering an injury to the head which could have been caused by falling.
Assistant deputy coroner Alan Walsh recorded an open verdict.
His family will appeal against the verdict as it felt evidence had been changed from the time of his death.
