PLANS are already well underway for next year's Horwich Carnival which will be called 'Going for Gold'.
The title has been chosen in honour of the Queen's Golden Jubilee and the Commonwealth Games and will be an even bigger celebration as Horwich Carnival was relaunched for the Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977.
Next year's event will be held on June 21, 22 and 23 with the traditional parade on Sunday.
Local pubs have volunteered to take a bigger part in the carnival.
More committee members are needed and anyone interested can attend the annual general meeting on September 6 at the RMI Club at 8pm.
