BOLTON sixth formers Jennifer Tobin and Julia White have helped bridge the gap for women in engineering by learning more about the nuts and bolts of the profession from the experts.
The pair, both aged 17 and students at Thornleigh Salesian College, were among 40 young women from across the country to be invited to Insight 2001 at Newcastle University.
The engineering taster course aims to get more women interested in the traditionally male world of engineering by showing them how the job is done. As part of the course they toured Newcastle's latest engineering marvel, the Millennium Bridge.
