Ex-pupil Ann Haslam has organised the event to be held at Smithills Coaching House at lunchtime.

Guild meeting SMITHILLS Townswomen's Guild holds its meetings at Chorley Old Road Methodist Church. The next meeting on July 19 will be an Open Guild Meeting. The following week the Social Studies group are organising a mystery trip, leaving from outside Smithills Conservative Club. All ladies are welcome to join the group. For further details contact 01204 597192. Players needed Astley Bridge Junior Football Club need new players for its under eights and under nines junior teams. If you know a youngster interested in playing contact Bernard Toland 400270 (U8s) or Phil Isherwood 406937 (U9s). The Astley Bridge FC play out of their area at a venue off Stapleton Avenue, Heaton. Football chance BARLOW Park Rangers Junior FC meets regularly on Barlow Park. John would love to hear from all prospective players in the age range 8-14 years.
