I CERTAINLY agree with "Would work if I could".
Some years ago when the Conservatives were in office, we had Peter Lilley dishing out similar ideas.
This was when Invalidity Benefit was changed to Incapacity Benefit, and a newspaper headline at the time (1993) was titled "Strict Benefit Rules".
As it happened, with my complaints, I was only turned down once on a DHSS medical exam, but "won" on appeal. The doctor in question enjoyed humiliating me, and even said that it was not his concern that there no jobs about when unemployment was at its highest.
I last had a DHSS examination in 1996, and was treated with great respect as it happens, and, of course, was "kept on".
