AS Chairperson of the Sunnyside Residents & Tenants Association, I would like to thank all who've helped to contribute to Great Lever's successful bid for Neighbourhood Management status.
Of course, the over-riding figures of health, crime and housing problems were the main factors, and are nothing to celebrate.
Compared to last Summer's articles in the BEN, though, the Paulhan Street area is already looking so different. Much hard work has already been put into changing things for the better, and I would like to say a special thanks to Mary Boardman, Julianne Booth, Val Johnson, Shahla Zandi, Cath Boland, Councillors Kay, Clare and Hussain, and our local brilliant "Beat Bobbies". All have given extra time and effort to help turn the area around.
Now, many residents on the Paulhan Street Estate give their valuable free time to projects already up and running. All I can say now is, if anyone wants to actively get involved, come to Local Community Planning meetings, enjoy Sunnyside's Fun Day on Sunday, August 12, attend Association meetings, join our two Youth Clubs, Holiday Play-Schemes, The Sunnyside Park Regeneration Project or the SureStart Steering Group.
Something positive for your area and, believe me, it will make a difference.
