TV LICENCE inspectors swooped on almost 2000 licence dodgers in the North-west during the men's Wimbledon Final.
Licensing officers were out in force in Bolton catching all those who had tuned into the tennis without ensuring that they had a valid TV licence.
Regional Manager for TV Licensing North, Doug Mullin, said: "Ivanesevic may have been a winner on court, but those watching him without a valid licence certainly double faulted.
"A ticket to Wimbledon would have been more fun and certainly cheaper than a trip to court and a fine of up to £1000."
