FIRE chiefs have launched an investigation into the cause of a blaze which badly damaged a house in Halliwell.
Crews were called to the terraced house in Felton Walk at 3.49am on Sunday morning after a neighbour spotted smoke pouring from the front door.
The fire damaged the hall, landing and staircase. The house was unoccupied at the time.
Firefighters took more than an hour to bring the fire under control and remained at the scene until 9am. The Fire Investigation Unit was called to conduct a detailed investigation.
