MAPS of three areas of Bolton from almost a century ago featuring forgotten landmarks have just been published.
The maps featuring Horwich (north) from 1907, Farnworth from 1908 and Moses Gate from the same year, have been reprinted by Durham based historical map publishers Alan Godfrey.
The Horwich map features old quarries on Old Lord's Height, as well as rows of terraced houses for the area's expanding population brought in to work at the railway works.
Farnworth's map shows foundries, a confectionery works, gas works and sewage works and the lines of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway.
Moses Gate of 1908 shows Burnden, Great Lever Colliery and Bee Hive mills. The maps cost £2.10p each from bookshops.
