STORE security staff spotted shoplifter Jason Corley in action.
Bury magistrates heard how the 30-year-old was being watched by CCTV cameras as he made his way around the Tesco store in Prestwich.
Corley was seen to pick up four DVD discs worth more than £70 which he then placed in a trolley.
However, as he made his way down the aisles he was seen to take the discs and, when he thought no one was watching, hide them down his trousers.
Then as he left the store he was immediately stopped by security staff and detained until the police arrived.
In court Corley of Roch Way, Whitefield, pleaded guilty to theft.
Having heard that Corley was wanted on a warrant for other matters before magistrates in Bolton, the Bury Bench, gave him a 12 months conditional discharge.
