DEAN Holdsworth has handed Sam Allardyce a pre-season boost by declaring himself fit and raring to go for the Premiership.
"I'll be fit and available," the Wanderers' striker was delighted to confirm, having come through a rigorous round of fitness work after his knee injury scare.
"I'll be short of games, obviously, but I'll be there if the manager wants me."
Holdsworth has missed the recent round of pre-season friendlies after returning from the club's training camp in Spain fearing he may need surgery on his injured knee. But scans revealed there was no damage to the joint and a specialist assured him he needed only to rest for two weeks.
"I have been doing three sessions a day, which has meant an eight o'clock start every morning.
" I never knew there were two eight o'clocks in a day!"
